15 September 2023
Dillingen is becoming a base for qualification – VECTOR prepares participants for certification in NDT methods.
Non-destructive testing methods are among the most widely used standardized quality inspection methods in industry today. With the signed cooperation agreement between SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar (SHS) and VECTOR Technische Unternehmensberatung (TUB) GmbH, a company of TÜV Saarland Holding GmbH, Saarland will obtain an excellent training center for employees in Saarland and beyond.
“Thanks to recognized and standardized test procedures, we can ensure the quality of our products in a transparent manner and superbly document that for our customers,” said Dr. Peter Maagh, Managing Director of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar, Technology Division. Joerg Disteldorf, Managing Director of SHS and responsible for Human Resources, added: “By cooperating with the NDT and training professionals at VECTOR TUB GmbH, we can train our employees as well as NDT officers from other companies here in Saarland on site and prepare them for the relevant certifications.”
Test, train, certify. With these three elements, the Nondestructive Testing Group at TÜV Saarland is committed to quality assurance for the entire material cycle. A key aspect in this is qualifying employees in the companies. “Experts in the international network of the NDT Group train participants at locations in Germany, Europe, the United States and Asia. The accredited programs all meet at least the requirements of a personnel certification according to the standards DIN EN ISO 9712, DIN ISO 18436-1, DIN EN ISO 9972, the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU as well as the ASME B&PV Code for an employer certification according to SNT-TC-1A and ANSI/ASNT CP-189. I am very pleased that with SHS - Stahl-Holding-Saar we have been able to gain a competent site partner who will further enhance our range of services,” says Dr. Achim Jung, Managing Director of VECTOR TUB GmbH/TÜV Saarland ZfP Group.
Today, non-destructive testing methods are part of the established quality assurance measures and are carried out as radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing, or by means of thermography, among others. All methods are standardized according to international standards, and the employees performing them must provide proof of relevant expertise.
The first training courses have already been successfully carried out. More training measures at the new location in Dillingen have already been announced and will be conducted this year. Demand for the training has confirmed that this program is being eagerly received.
