CDP grants SHS Group “Supplier Engagement Leader” status

SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar (SHS) and its companies Dillinger and Saarstahl achieved an overall B grade in the 2021 ratings for “Metal smelting, refining & forming” by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a global nonprofit environmental protection organization. SHS was included for the first time in the CDP’s “Supplier Engagement Leadership Board”.
With its ratings, the nonprofit organization CDP establishes the greatest possible transparency of the environmental data of companies, organizations or cities. CDP collects data and information provided voluntarily once a year. The assessment is based on eleven different categories including business and financial planning, supply chain responsibility, governance and energy, and emissions reduction initiatives, among others.
The CDP rating and designation as a Supplier Engagement Leader confirms that sustainable and responsible action is a traditional core element in the SHS Group’s corporate policy. In its comprehensive approach to sustainability, SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar and its companies Saarstahl and Dillinger acknowledges its responsibility to present and future generations of employees and stakeholders and aims to manufacture premium steel products using sustainable methods. The SHS Group is committed to the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement and wants to help achieve carbon-neutral steel production. In their transformation process toward production of “green” steel, the companies of the SHS Group are focused on their responsibility to people and the environment – today and in the future. Based on what has been achieved so far and with a view to a livable future for all, the companies are continuously identifying further potential for improvement and redefining ambitious targets.
