Ready for the future: Jonathan Weber reappointed to the Board of Management as Chief Transformation Officer

25 June 2025

At their respective meetings on 21 May 2025, the Supervisory Boards of SHS – Stahl-Holding Saar Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH and Saarstahl Aktiengesell-schaft reappointed Mr. Jonathan Weber (45) to another 5-year term on the Board of Management as Chief Transformation Officer, effective 1 April 2026. The Supervisory Board of Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke likewise affirmed the reappointment at its meeting on 22 May 2025.

Jonathan Weber initially took over the newly established cross-organizational function for transformation-related issues on 1 April 2021 and has since been continuously facilitating their implementation. The position includes responsibility for ensuring cost competitiveness as well as the important future issues of decarbonization and digitalization.

Jonathan Weber on his reappointment: “I would like to thank the Supervisory Board for the great confidence. With the Power4Steel transformation project already underway, we are making our companies fit for the future. Our goal is to sustainably establish our outstanding Saarstahl and Dillinger products as the world’s best.”

The Board of Management of Saarstahl and Dillinger also includes Stefan Rauber (Chief Executive Officer), Daniël Nicolaas Van der Hout (Chief Sales Officer), Markus Lauer (Chief Financial Officer), Dr. Peter Maagh (Chief Technology and Production Officer) and Joerg Disteldorf (Chief Human Resources Officer).

All members of the Board of Management are also members of the Board of Management of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar and, since the summer of 2023, have formed the team that will shape and steer Saarland’s steel industry in the challenging years ahead.

The comprehensive conversion of the production facilities as part of the transformation process will enable up to 3.5 million tons of carbon-neutral steel to be produced in Saarland every year starting in 2030. This is the largest decarbonization project in Europe and, with the approval of the EU, it is being supported with EUR 2.6 billion in funding from the federal and state governments.
