Pioneering role validated: Carbon Disclosure Project once again awards top rating to SHS Group

30 April 2025

The SHS Group (SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar, Saarstahl and Dillinger) once again earns a spot on the globally coveted and acknowledged “A List” of the environmental protection organization CDP. The annually published list includes the companies that achieve top marks for transparency and climate protection measures, based on the data provided in the CDP questionnaires. More than 24,800 companies alongside the SHS Group took part this year in the non-profit organization’s ranking.

“The fact that our climate protection efforts have once again received the highest marks in this global rating validates our pioneering role in decarbonization. With Power4Steel and our aim to achieve climate-neutral steel production, we are actively shaping the future in Germany. We are taking giant strides toward achieving the green transformation – for our employees, our customers, and coming generations. These efforts are essential and absolutely right, but they also require the unwavering backing and support from politicians,” said Stefan Rauber, Chairman of the Board of Management of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar and Chairman of the Management Board of Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke and Saarstahl AG

The aim of the Carbon Disclosure Project is to achieve the greatest possible transparency in the environmental data of companies, organizations and cities. CDP collects the data and information provided on a voluntary basis and now manages the world’s largest database for climate protection. In addition to initiatives to reduce a company’s emissions and climate strategy, categories such as business and financial planning regarding climate protection, responsibility in the supply chain, governance and energy savings are also assessed.

The SHS Group with Dillinger and Saarstahl already achieved the top “A” grade during the previous year and thus secured a place on the renowned “A List”. The result of the current CDP ranking is available for interested customers.
